Murtabak

Breakfast dish today. 'Murtabak Maggi', a famous dish lately. So, I tried it out, and it turns out to be quite simple and tasty.
Murtabak, also mutabbaq, (Arabic:  مطبق ) is a stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread which is commonly found in Saudi Arabia. Depending on the location, the name and ingredients can significantly vary. The name mutabbaq (or sometimes mutabbag) in Arabic means "folded". In Indonesia, the Murtabak is one of the most popular street food menu and is well known as Martabak.

My style, general recipe...  here goes.

Instant noodles, soak to soften and strain the water away. I choose the 'Kari' (curry) flavour for its spiciness.

Saute some minced chicken with diced onions... and add the seasoning from the packet of instant noodle. You can use beef or choice of seafood in replace of chicken.

Beat eggs (just enough to cover the noodles) and add the cooked minced chicken.
If you wish, add some button mushroom, diced celery or cabbage. Then pour in the noodles that you have sieved earlier and mix. Coat your pan with a teaspoon of frying oil, and scoop some noodles onto the pan, fry for a minute or two before turning it, slightly pressing it down so the egg would cover the bottom side of the murtabak. Leave it to cook.

Finish up, serve while it is hot with some sauce... I choose chili sauce. (something I don't find when I was in Madinah/Makkah)

there you are... enjoy!
I've seen some substitute the instant noodles with pasta, it should work well too.
Happy cooking and eating it afterwards!
