Eid-ul-Fitr 1432

30th August, 2011… I hear the azan calling.

It’s Eid! Most will rush for the prayers. Once a year, to celebrate a successful month fighting nafs… or was it?
Many that is oblivious to this moment too. Oh! Celebrate? that one, no one forgets, but in truth – celebrate what?

Prayers this morning, so many who does not realize, that it is not a simple privilege to be taken for granted… some who wishes it, are just asked to sit out and watch. “For the better” are mere words to soften the hurt, for not being able. Redha… always! Smile… don’t cry.

For me, it’s my first without my mother. I remember how she will rush us all for this, year after year. She only stopped in 2008, when she was not strong enough to climb up those stairs that leads to the ladies chamber. Her mind never stop going though, I suppose she visualize herself there to sooth her emotions.

literally/translated it says:

blue like this? I got to snap this one morning when I was in Penang. Back to the sms… I did some research! I had to confirm this…
I Google and found many write-ups. Lots of copy paste and I was not satisfied. So I looked further and found a note from a trustable site. It says,

Photography is the art, science, and practice of creating pictures… so it says in the world wide web. For me, it’s an interest which started as a simple hobby and will one day be a passion. Hence, the need to study and understand it’s fundamental, analyzing and experimenting.

~ It has been a while since I posted. Probably after my mother’s passing on (al-fatehah for her), I needed to simply retreat and be in terms with it all. So, I am starting again slowly with just photos that I consider, amongst my best shot. Enjoy… ~

my late mother planted this. She loves to plant. Some says the flower emits a sweet smell at night.

it’s glutinous rice and coconut milk, in bamboo segments lined with banana leaf and placed over ember and left to cook. However, the bamboo has to be rotated every now and then so the heat spread evenly.

a challenge for the theme - still life. This compo was not planned, I love the outcome though…
